Job Summary

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you'll be part of Allstate’s Forward Engineering Team where we believe competing and thriving in the digital age is accomplished by quickly responding to market changes and emerging opportunities with innovative business solutions.  You'll be responsible for multiple initiatives and will leverage skills in machine learning, information retrieval, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and engineering technologies.  Your work will help drive transformative growth at Allstate and will improve upon the customer engagement management ecosystem, enhancing a customer's journey through various types of data-driven streamlining.


If you're an experienced Machine Learning Engineer that enjoys researching, designing, and building systems of various scale and complexity by implementing supervised and unsupervised machine-learning techniques, we'd love to review your credentials further. You'll have the opportunity to innovate and partner with stakeholders that highly value this partnership.  There will be opportunities to work individually and with small teams to envision and realize cutting-edge ideas through rapid prototyping, development and deployment. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading Applied Machine Learning software engineering technical competency
  • Identifying, researching and realizing key machine learning technical capabilities in the industry
  • Leading design and building mid-to-high complexity machine learning systems
  • Building data pipelines and getting the data required to build and evaluate ML models
  • Leveraging continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices, including test automation and monitoring, to ensure successful deployment of ML models and application code
  • Collaborating as part of a cross-functional Agile team to create and enhance software that enables state-of-the-art, next generation big data and machine learning applications
  • Applying applicable policies and standards while working toward specific objective
  • Independently directing implementation of new initiatives for machine learning technology solutions
     

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (MS+ is preferred) in Computer Science/Engineering or a related quantitative discipline
  • Minimum of 7+ years full time hands-on software engineering experience 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years full time hands-on machine learning or artificial intelligence software engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience with programming languages such as Python, Java
  • Experience in deploying machine learning models in microservice architecture on a cloud environment is nice to have
  • Experience in building models for deep learning, speech recognition and natural language processing systems is nice to have
  • Experience using frameworks for machine learning and data science like scikit-learn, keras, pandas, numpy, XGBoost, TensorFlow, pytorch are nice to have
  • Experience of software delivery practices including Git and CI/CD tool
     

Compensation Data

The compensation range for this position is $96,500 and $160,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
