Job Description

The Data Analytics Lead Consultant is responsible for supporting databases comprising human capital data, as well as improving data quality and reliability, and leveraging data analysis to optimize business results.  The role will also recommend forward-looking improvements and enhancements to influence and implement HR data strategy.  The role will consult regularly with Allstate's leaders and team members to discuss data quality, data integration, and analytic needs.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
•    Provide insightful, actionable analysis using in-depth knowledge of human capital data, knowing how to access and apply available data to answer talent related questions
•    Leverage analytical and functional expertise along with a deep understating of HR data and people processes, to design, develop and deliver intuitive human capital solutions - reports, dashboards, analysis  that provide insights to talent decision makers (HRBPs, COEs, business leaders) to drive action.  
•    Maintain HR meta data, HR data models and architecture to ensure seamless data integration and flow to downstream human capital applications.
•    Use data, technology, business knowledge and statistics to build automation for reporting functionality, operational improvements and to streamline quality controls 
•    Understand the business' problems and propose custom solutions for analyzing and solving those problems as well as potential implications
•    Provide thought leadership on data strategy and human capital solutions, and technical training to less tenured team members and business partners
•    Create, maintain and drive alignment on data definitions, policies and governance of business rules for human capital data.
•    Ensure the compliancy of business standards, policies, and procedures, and continuously improve quality, reporting, and processes that include input, change functions, PII management, auditing, and data cleansing
•    Support Data Stewards in data management efforts that directly contribute towards major enterprise initiatives
•    Collaborate with others to improve the effectiveness of business decisions and lead projects with limited oversight
•    Communicate complex ideas and findings clearly and concisely, adapts techniques based on audience, and responds to feedback
•    Oversee change management of existing reports and data sets as new requirements and data availability matures.

•    Ability to look at the data through a strategic lens and assess the feasibility of potential solutions based on their impact to the organization's future roadmap.
•    Intermediate working knowledge of SQL and statistical software such as SAS or R or Python and ETL tools & techniques
•    Experience using visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
•    Basic to intermediate knowledge of Cloudera Hadoop or Scality
•    Intermediate to advanced business communication, presentation, and writing skills to effectively convey quantitative information to technical and non-technical audiences.
•    Experience demonstrating judgment and discretion when dealing with highly sensitive people data
•    Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of business software; advanced knowledge of Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience 
•    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience   
•    4-6 years of experience
•    Experience with People dataset, SQL and data visualization tools
•    Knowledge of data integrations, data lakes and data warehouses
