Your role in the team
We are currently seeking Fixed Term cover for an Accounting Analyst role to support our growing financial footprint in Northern Ireland. The Fixed Term would begin between approx. Mid July / Mid August 2023 for approx. 10 months.
The team supports the vehicle service contract segment and offers a unique opportunity to see the business from start to finish. Team members will learn about our products, sales channels, and claim handling; see how customer transactions flow into the accounting records and financial statements; and get exposure to the service contract and P&C insurance industries.
The role will participate in the monthly close, preparing account reconciliations and coordinating with internal and external providers. The analyst will have daily interaction with the business unit and suppliers to assure transactions are completed and appropriately recorded.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
- Apply accounting principles and concepts to business transactions
- Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis
- Execute financial controls in support of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements
- Coordinate accounting transactions with internal and external business partners
- Prepare month-end closing entries and analysis to assure completion and accuracy of results
- Participate in special projects to support accounting and business unit initiatives
So, what are the essential criteria to apply?
- All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
- A degree level qualification (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Accountancy, or similar discipline
- Or a degree in a non-finance related discipline but supported with a post-graduate qualification within a finance or accountancy related discipline and at least 2 years experience in a Finance / Accountancy role.
- 2 years’ experience in a Finance/Accountancy role
We also have some desirable criteria
- Obtained or working towards finance qualification
- Experience with SAP or other data warehouse
- Intermediate working knowledge of Excel e.g. pivot tables, V-look ups and macros
- Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA
