Your role in the team

 

We are on the lookout for talented finance undergraduate Accounting Analyst to join us for year-in-industry placement opportunity starting in Summer 2022. The successful applicant will join our growing innovative corporate accounting team who deliver quality reporting, working at the forefront of developing capabilities in support of Allstate’s global business model.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

 

  • Post and prepare monthly journals across teams.
  • Prepare and process wire transfers across teams.
  • Actively participate in the month end close including preparation of balance sheet account reconciliations, account rollforwards, and other supporting schedules as necessary
  • Quarterly/Annual Statutory preparation of schedules and exhibits
  • Participate in process improvement projects
  • Review documented procedures for accuracy/completeness, update as necessary
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors.
  • Innovate and collaborate with teams both in Northern Ireland and Chicago

 

 

 

So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

 

 

  • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
  • Currently a second-year student
  • Candidates must be currently sitting on a 2.1 average to date in a school of management degree pathway in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar discipline
  • Analytical skills.
  • Applicants must provide a full list of module marks from their first year, and any current year to date, at application stage. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the application.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite including Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of SAP accounting system a plus
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Applicants must be willing and eligible to travel to the USA

Placement Students who successfully complete their one-year placement with Allstate Northern Ireland may be made conditional offers of permanent employment with Allstate at the end of their placement. These positions will commence post-graduation and will be subject to the student securing a minimum 2.1 classification in their IT degree or a Commendation in their Master’s Degree.
