Your role in the team


We are looking to expand our 360 Finance Advanced Analytics data engineering team to meet increasing demand. Our engineers work with multiple internal and external data sources to deliver data that’s readily available, easily accessible, accurate and complete. 


In addition, our data engineers are responsible for building a centralized data lake/hub using the Hadoop ecosystem that will be used by Reporting & Operational Analytics teams and the Machine Learning teams.


If you are an experienced professional currently working with data, providing analytics and have an understanding of programming languages this role would offer you the opportunity to grow that skillset and broaden your knowledge / skills further.


Our goal is to leverage data and analytics to help automate and optimize the Analytics Data processes enabling our front-line employees to focus on serving our customers and delivering the most advanced claims experience on the planet.


Our data engineers are responsible for the strategy around how we bring together complex data into clean and useful data structures, making our valuable data more approachable for its users.






  • Improving data governance and quality increasing the reliability of our data
  • Influencing the creation of a single, trusted source for key business data that can be shared across the Enterprise
  • Responsible for designing and building new Big Data systems for turning data into actionable insights
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and presenting recommendations to management
  • Developing solutions and iterates quickly to continuously improve
  • Seeking out and evaluating emerging big data technologies and open-source packages
  • Participating in strategic planning discussions with technical and non-technical partners
  • Using, teaching, and supporting a wide variety of Data and Analytics tools along with programming languages to achieve results (i.e., Python, Hadoop, HIVE, Scala, Impala, Java, Python, SQL, R and others)



So, what are the essential criteria to apply?


  • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering (or related field) or equivalent experience preferred
  • 1 years experience with big data and the Hadoop HDFS ecosystem
  • Experience in developing, managing, and manipulating large, complex datasets
  • Experience of coding skills such as SQL and Python and/or other scripting languages (UNIX).



We also have some desirable criteria


  • Experience in Scala
  • Experience with non-structured databases (Mongo)
  • Working knowledge of Tableau
  • Experience with Airflow
  • Experience in a data integration, ETL and/or business intelligence/analytics related function
