Your role in the team

 

We are excited to announce a Lead PCF Engineer role opening within Allstate Business Insurance (ABI) at Allstate Northern Ireland to join our rapidly expanding team.

 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead our Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) team in the migration of our existing book of business onto a new platform.

 

You will be involved from the beginning of the project, working with the Platform leads to help shape the direction of the engineering work taking place in this exciting new project.

 

 

  • Accountable for overall code quality for this product.  Does it deliver the functions it needs to deliver, is it of high quality, is it of high performance, is it usable.  ATSV quality and availability KPI's, product KPI's.
  • Ensures that other engineers on the team are working on the highest priority items in any given sprint as defined in sprint planning, or as a result of the triage of any production issues
  • Collaborates with the Product Owner to refine the backlog and apply appropriate priority to technical debt resolution
  • Understands the details of any Custom Integrations supporting this product.
  • Understands the details of how those Custom Integrations connect back into any Allstate or other vended components.
  • Guides other engineers on the product team to ensure that there is a cohesive and efficient approach to how the product functions.
  • Develops code to deliver functionality that align with Allstate's security and compliance standards
  • Collaborates with Product Owner, SCRUM master, and lead QC engineer to constantly improve quality, availability, KPI's, and velocity of the product team.
  • Develops goals and understands the overall goals from the Engineers and QC engineers’ managers for the engineers and QC engineers on the product team.
  • Provides quarterly feedback on the engineers on the team to their manager

 

So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

 

  • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a dev role
  • Experience in one or more of the following – Java / Spring Boot
  • Experience developing/consuming Restful APIs
  • Cloud Technology: Pivotal Cloud Foundry, or similar
  • Experience with Source Code Management Tools (e.g. Git)
  • Testing frameworks e.g. JUnit, Mockito
