Your role in the team

 

The Data Marketplace team is a critical team within Allstate Technology and Strategic Ventures. It is driving critical data governance and cataloging across the enterprise to truly transform data-driven decision-making at Allstate.

 

Data Standardization Suite (DSS) is the application which provides Canonical Data Modelling and Reference Data Management capabilities to the Allstate teams.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and self-motivated individual to build their technical and business skillset within a dynamic and global team. 

 

Product Owners are the glue which connects business, technology, and value. They go above and beyond to drive product development, innovate, refine customer experiences, and deliver measurable outcomes and business value.

 

You will be empowered to take decisions on backlog items and planning, engaging in a timely and responsive way to compensate for any non-colocation/time zone differences and working with key stakeholders to develop the DSS Roadmap.  

 

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

 

  • Working with key stakeholders to create, manage and develop the DSS product vision and strategy.
  • Be recognized as the “voice of the customer;” invest time with current and potential customers to understand their needs & habits, defining the ‘Why.’
  • Use customer feedback, market analysis, and data gathering to make decisions and validate assumptions and direction to enable the ‘How’ and ‘What.’
  • Develop and maintain the product roadmap, create, and manage the product backlog including feature/story creation and prioritization.
  • Communicate and agree the goal of each sprint and release.
  • Define and manage metrics to measure the success of efforts to inform overall product delivery
  • Represent and contribute to the product day-to-day agile scrum ceremonies.
  • Provide information on complex problems to enable the creation of smaller manageable tasks through prioritizing the backlog, setting clear direction, vision, and strategy.
  • Coach and mentor members of the team as well as members of the cross-functional development organization.

 

 

 

 

So, what are the essential criteria to apply?

 

  • All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK’
  • At minimum 3 years’ experience in product owner / manager or business-related experience or technical leadership
  • Experience working in an agile methodology
  • Experience and knowledge of product ownership of a Full Stack team. For example, React, Java Spring Boot, SQL, APIs (Application Programming Interfaces)
  • Experience creating products incorporating coding standards and best practices

  • Experience of Agile toolsets e.g., Version1
  • Exposure and knowledge of Change, incident, and Release management
