A day in the life of a Travel Property Adjuster, and what it takes to do the job!

As a Traveling Field Property Adjuster, you will play a crucial role in assessing property damages, estimating losses, and settling claims in accordance with customer policies. You will conduct on-site inspections, write detailed damage estimates, and provide clear explanations of both the estimate and the policy to customers. Additionally, you will leverage advanced video technology to collaborate virtually with customers and vendors when not in the field. This role requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to negotiate claim settlements. You must be adaptable to work independently or as part of a team, both face-to-face and virtually.

A day in the life of a Travel Estimating Property Adjuster:

  • Travel to loss sites and conduct thorough inspections of properties
  • Write accurate estimates to capture the extent of damages
  • Settle claims promptly and fairly, adhering to customer policies
  • Utilize advanced video technology for remote collaboration and estimating
  • Review policies to determine coverage and provide detailed explanations to customers
  • Communicate empathetically with customers, guiding them through the claim process
  • Negotiate claim settlements in accordance with established methodologies
  • Work in various environments, including independent and team settings, and virtual platforms
  • Handle claims, collaborate with vendors, and communicate with customers from home
  • Participate in online meetings and trainings, being on camera as required

When will I work?

  

  • During training, work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • After training, work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, occasional weekends and holidays.
  • Minimum of 8 hours per day, up to 12 hours based on business needs
  • This field position requires up to 90% travel out of town

You’re a great match for this role if you, if you have these preferred qualifications:

  • Reside in the EST time zone
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • Are located within 50 miles of an airport
  • 1+ years of experience writing water damage estimates preferred 
  • Previous experience as a property adjuster preferred
  • Proficiency in estimating software like Xactimate preferred
  • Strong focus on providing exceptional customer service
  • Ability to work independently, starting from home, and travel to different locations
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and a positive attitude toward challenges
  • Excellent organization and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Physical capability to carry a 50-pound ladder and access roofs
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Bilingualism and/or prior military experience is a plus

Sign On Bonus:

You may be eligible for a $1000 Licensing Sign on Bonus if you have the applicable active licenses needed for this role. This could include Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or applicable Appraiser License.

Candidates who have previously worked for and are seeking to be rehired at Allstate and its family of companies are not eligible for this sign-on bonus.

Notice of Licensing Requirement

As a condition of employment, your office/area may require you to obtain an adjuster and/or an appraiser license which includes passing an additional background check with the Department of Labor.  If applicable, you will be required to secure license(s) within 60 days of hire.

If required, the Hiring Manager will work with you along with the Centralized Licensing team to ensure that you are properly licensed. #LI-AS1

Compensation offered for this role is $68,000.00-$93,500.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.

The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
