Your role in the team
The Senior Decision Modeler is responsible for creating, testing, and maintaining decision models of all complexities whilst adhering to decision architecture guidelines, and will be considered a Decision Model expert within the team. This individual will also take onboard Glossary Administrator duties, supporting the Decision Modeling GA as and when required.
Job Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Decision Modeling from an internal perspective.
- Take ownership of training new Decision Modelers and developing the team’s modeling capabilities, with guidance from senior leaders.
- Create and maintain RTB and ASC Decision Models of all complexities as per directed by technical designs provided by Decision Analysts.
- Participate in peer, architect, and business owner model reviews.
- Partner with your fellow Decision Modelers, Analysts, Architects, Glossary Admin, Product and Business Owners eliciting the logic driving the business decisions, modeling, validating, testing, deploying, and integrating the logic.
- Liaise with Glossary Administrator to ensure that all Fact Types meet the strict naming conventions set out in Allstate’s GA code of practice.
- Participate in daily team catchup calls and record project progress in the team Kanban board.
- Actively share expertise among peers and other disciplines.
- Develop Glossary Admin knowledge enabling this individual to support the Glossary Administrator when needed as back-up.
- Partner with the business rules management, data management, and information architecture teams to establish and manage the Decision Glossary.
- Collaborate within the Glossary Administration Community of Practice.
So, what are the essential criteria to apply?
- All candidates must evidence an existing right to work in the UK'
- At least 1 years Decision Modeling experience
- 2-3 years software development or relevant IT experience
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools
The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate a high degree of competence in the following:
- Proven ability to influence others and lead change
- Strong logic, written and oral communication skills
- Organized, responsive and highly thorough problem solver
